Prime Minister Kiviniemi’s Government

On 22 June 2010, the President of the Republic appointed Finland's 71st government, Prime Minister Mari Kiviniemi’s Government.

 

It is a majority coalition formed by the Centre Party, the National Coalition Party, the Green League and the Swedish People’s Party of Finland. The Government has 20 ministers.

Government Programme

The Government Programme is an Action Plan agreed by the parties represented in the Government and it sets out the main functions of the Government. An incoming Government issues a communication to Parliament on its programme.

Division of duties between ministers and deputies

At its first plenary session, the Government decides on the division of duties between the ministers in ministries which have more than one minister. The Government appoints the deputies who will stand in for the ministers.
